Fabric, thread by thread.
Bims Tekstil works where yarn becomes cloth. We care about the details you can feel: the hand of a fabric, the strength of a weave, the depth of a colour.
About us
Warp and weft, the same idea since the first loom.
Every woven fabric is two sets of threads crossing each other: the warp held tight along the loom, the weft passed through it again and again. Get those crossings right and a cloth is strong, even and beautiful. That is the standard we hold ourselves to at Bims Tekstil. Tell us what you need, and we will talk it through with you, thread by thread.
How cloth is made
From yarn to roll
Yarn
It starts with the fibre and the twist. The right yarn decides how a fabric drapes, wears and takes colour.
Weave
Plain, twill or satin: the pattern of crossings gives a cloth its strength, texture and surface.
Finish
Washing, dyeing and finishing turn raw cloth into fabric that is ready to cut, sew and use.

Plain, twill or satin? The three basic weaves
Almost every woven cloth is a variation on three structures. Learn to spot them and you will know a lot about a fabric before you touch it.
